Time Is To Valuable To Waste

Many home business owners discover the need to develop, or hone, their time management skills. Unlike working outside the home for someone else where employers frequently structure duties and fill your day with activity, when working from home you will have a great deal of freedom and flexibility. This freedom can turn out to be either good or bad, depending upon how you use your time.

Here are a few ideas to help you manage your time:
1. It’s always a good idea to prepare a list of activities you need to accomplish. Then set priorities (A,B,C) for doing the work which will help to keep you on track. Be realistic about what you want to accomplish in any one day, week, or month. There will be interruptions and often you will find the need to revise your list. That’s OK, as long as you are making progress towards accomplishing what needs to be done.
2. Try to do the tasks that put money in your pocket first and then follow-up with the busy work. For instance, if you are marketing a product or service you need to get information in front of your prospects and customers on a timely and regular basis. Once you’ve spent an adequate amount of time doing that you could then allocate time for additional market research, filling, etc. Activities that need to be done but don’t directly contribute to your income should have a lower priority when competing for your time.
3. If you would like to learn how to maximize your time to accomplish more in less time, then a good source that describes how many entrepreneurs have done just that is a video called the Phenomenon. You can learn more about it at Time.
4. A book that provides some great ideas on time management for business owners is NO B.S. Time Management for Entrepreneurs by Dan Kennedy. Some of his ideas are a little unusual, but they have made him and many others millionaires, so they are at least worth consideration.

Whatever you decide to do, however, do it soon, your time is to valuable to waste.
