Our initial review is as follows:

Positive:

Great prices.  They have some of the best prices for their leads

Negative:

The leads are horrible as a whole. So, despite the good prices, the bottom line is that the money you save is not worth the cost.  Here are some comments about these leads:

"I sold their leads a long time ago when they were MLMLeadGenie.  I thought I would try them again as MLMLeadSpecialist.  What a mistake.  It has been nothing but a mistake.  I have not had this much damage control to do from the customers that have bought these leads from me." ~ Anonymous Reseller

"The leads were shocked that I called them. Everyone is surprised I am calling them! I was calling these with a group of people and I was embarrassed. There were duplicate leads and many angry people.  I did not speak with one person who knew what I was talking about.  Horrible."  ~ P.K., Monavie

"What a mess. I hate to bash a company, but these leads are some of the worst I have ever called. " ~ A.N., Iowa

"I don't think I have ever requested a refund from a leads company before, but I did with them.  Not very impressed." ~ R.C., Mannatech

While I don' t really want to put down a leads company, it is amazing the number of negative feedback emails we have received. I would like to post something positive, but we never received any.

The purpose of this blog post is not to bash MLMLeadSpecialists, but to make our readers aware of what other customers are saying.

Today, most lead companies have some kind of a referral bonus… hey we'll send you some free leads if you refer someone.  That's nice, but I'd still rather have cash over leads… or both for that matter.

There are a couple of them out there, and I do understand that it's not about getting wealthy off of a leads affiliate program, but I do intend to make at least $300-$500 per month with the Pro Email Leads affiliate program.  Here's their banner. Just sign up for free and start promoting their leads.  It is a 2-tier affiliate program.  If you get 5 – 10 people a month who buy leads through your link, or if they are on your first or second tier, it won't be hard to make a nice bit of money with their 30% payout.

While it is certainly no ProStep (RIP), it is a decent way to make a few extra bucks.  This may be one of the better kept secrets out there. Check it out while it's still not flooded with affiliates.

Today there are so many companies selling interviewed leads it makes me suspicious of what's going on.  The way I see it, there are only 3 possibilities when you have dozens and dozens of companies selling them now:

1. They are legit
2. They are legit but WAY over sold
3. They are not legit

My feeling is, about 5-10% are from the first category, about 30-35% are from the second category, and at least 50% are crappy, fake, or some how manipulated and non legit.

The way I see it, if you are going to get a genuine telephone interviewed lead, you better be prepared to pay some big bucks… at least $10 per lead.  I know Network Leads (which calls them Profiled Leads – probably more accurate), sells them for $15 per lead.  Furthermore, I learned last year that some Melaleuca reps are paying more than $100 per lead!! I spoke with one rep who had already gone through over 350 of these leads.

Most people don't think – and lead companies are counting on you not to think.  If you really stopped to think, no mass produciton line could ever produce a telephone interviewed lead that would cost $3.50.  They could outsource the interview room to India and they couldn't produce a $3.50 interviewed lead.

If a lead company tells you their "real time" interviewed leads are $3.50, there are ONLY two possibilities:

1. They are interviewd
2. They are selling them 20 times.

Stop funding the rip-off lead companies.  Get smart about your lead purchases. If you want interviews, expect to pay at least $10-$15.  If you can' t afford that, then use another type of lead until you can.

Now, I'm not saying all lead companies are rip-off companies, but do a Google Search and find the companies that are selling their interviewed leads for less than $10 per lead.  Those are the companies you need to put on your black list.

Let me qualify this.  I actually receive many more people reporting to me, but some of their comments are such a joke, they have no business buying leads to begin with.  For example, I got an email from a guy last week slandering a leads company.  He had bought email leads and was upset because they weren't quality phone leads.  Save your breath.

I'm talking about real network marketers buying real MLM leads to build their business.  I'm not talking about people buying 10 leads for a penny and expecting gold to come pouring forth.

So, to the topic at hand – LeadPower.com

Lead Power has been around a while, and the quality of their leads has fluctuated.  I had received about 4 or 5 emails over the first half of the year that they were "okay."  That was about it.  Nothing great, nothing bad.  Some good results, some zero results.

However, since the first of November, I have received over 20 emails about how horrible the quality of leads has been.  So called "interviewed" leads were a complete joke, way oversold, never verified, angry people (notice I didn't say prospects), and probably worse than the email leads the guy I just mentioned was calling. 

The funny thing was, it wasn't just a couple people.  4 0r 5 emails through the first 10 months this year.  20+ emails in the last month.  And, the people who are emailing me are a bit "passionate" about how upset they are with Lead Power.  These leads are "Putrid!!"  That is a direct quote from one of my readers.

So, buy with caution for now.  Things change.  Like I said, their lead quality has been inconsistent… it's just this has been much worse than normal.  Another thing to beware of.  Lead Power has a reseller program and they aren't afraid to use it.  They are reselling their leads to other lead companies to resell the same bad leads through other companies.

That is a sound of music to my ears. Why? I worked MLM Leads for nearly 8 years, and had great success with them. That is why that I have a pretty good understanding of what really makes a good MLM Lead, and what does not.

In the pursuit of finding these top 15 Network Marketing Lead companies, there were some requirements and considerations that went into the mix. An MLM lead is only part of the MLM Lead Success Formula. There were 5 things that we looked at when we were considering MLM Lead Companies.

What are they?

1) Quality of the MLM lead.

Quality of lead is everything. There are some great looking websites out there that look totally rocking, but we found that the quality of leads when we called them, were less than what you should expect in an MLM lead.

Beautiful site, great looking logo, lousy leads.

That is why we actually had people order leads, and we called them. We called more than one bunch of leads as well. This at least would give us a feeling of consistency or lack of it. The MLM Lead companies we chose were highly consistent in quality of lead, and people who truly were looking for a business. It took us 7 months to complete the research on MLM leads.

2) Training of working the MLM Leads.

Many of the beautiful sites offered no type of ongoing training, and that was something that really needs to be be a part of any good MLM leads programs. There were some that had online training, as well as cds and training series you could purchase. That was good, but the ongoing live training was the best idea, and we found many MLM leads Companies that did just that.

Training also includes scripts, handling objections, presentation, following up, closing, and other MLM leads topics. There are some HOT MLM leads sites out there that truly delivered on this quality of MLM leads training.

3) MLM Leads Support.

The support factor was key. Once the MLM leads were purchased, was there somehow support in case of need? Most had email support, some had live phone support, and some had live instant message support. There were sites that offered no support, and if you had a challenge with your MLM leads, then good luck.

The support should be somehow resolving issues that arise, including bad mlm leads, wrong numbers or emails, and general problems. The MLM Leads companies we found that were the best, had a support system. And some type of guarantee also should be part of the network marketing lead program.

4) Targeted MLM leads.

Many companies had different types of targeted mlm leads, including company specific, live tv leads, local leads, gender specific, product specific, area code specific, among others. Targeted mlm leads are the favorite of the Networkers I talked to, as it gives people a more focused lead, and a more targeted impact.

5) Pricing of the MLM leads.

This was a huge factor in determining many people's decision to buy. But to be blunt, you get what you pay for. There are many cheap network marketing home business lead companies with cheap leads, but here is a warning:

Be careful. You get what you pay for.

Ask if you can try maybe 15-20 leads to see if they are worth the money. Many companies give free network marketing leads away to try.

Understand that a great MLM lead may cost you several dollars, and rightfully so.

An MLM lead purchase is NOT a purchase, but an investment in your business. One good MLM lead can produce tens of thousands of dollars in volume and revenues. If you understand that, then the pricing should not be as important as the quality and training of the Network marketing lead company.

And of course, REPUTATION had a lot to do with the selection as well. Some companies that came across really well, when checked on, did not have a very good reputation for MLM Leads and service.

Well, this is okay in theory but we are dealing with a sales-based industry and while relationship marketing is the core base, it's still about sales and it's a proven fact the majority of people never buy on the first look.

Simply dismissing a prospect because they don't join your work at home business the first time round doesn't mean they are not interested. If they let you know that no, I am not interested and please don't contact me again then yes, let them go but the majority of people will simply put it on the backburner initially.

That's why the presell approach you use is vital and why you need to begin the education of your prospect from the time they come into your sales funnel.

Most online marketers are aware of social networking like Facebook and MySpace, but there are many other online networks arising. It seems I get a request to join a new one about everyday in my e-mail. The only other one I have joined is BetterNetworker because of the great information that is shared and the experienced network marketers you can meet on it. I personally am not interested in joining any others besides these because these three generate HUGE amounts of traffic and each have very high page rank in Google, thus giving me solid incoming links. These sites also have generated a lot of traffic to my main sites and increased my income tremendously.

I have mostly used article marketing in the past, but I am now venturing into the video marketing area. Here is what I can recommend to you thus far. First, post your videos in more sites than Youtube. Use Tube Mogul to post to multiple video sharing sites at one time. Next load them into MySpace and post a bulletin driving your friends to that watch that video. (On a side note you are going to want to use a piece of software that enables you to add friends easily and quickly. I highly recommend using Add New Friends. It’s very easy to set up and use.)

Just get to know them and be a service to them in any way you can. When the opportunity comes that they ask you what you do don’t hesitate to let them know, but don’t pitch them on it. Just tell them about what you are doing, show them your website. You can even post a link to your blog or website that gives them an opportunity to go over to your website that you ultimately want to get them to.
You want to be as discreet as possible.
Post some videos that are offering a service to network marketers. Present yourself as an expert that has something to offer to people and not as someone that is trying to SELL.
You have to be willing to give first before you can receive.

The great thing is that the search engines love this site and for many MLM keywords you will start seeing it coming up on the first page. Again, the same rule applies on your business page. Post valuable, content driven information that gives a valuable service to your friends and readers and attracts more of them to you.
On the business page you can post events, videos, notes, start a discussion board and fans can post reviews on the page. So add items galore on your business page (as long as the content is valuable) and you won’t at all be considered a spammer.
You can post a link to one of your business sites on your personal profile, but don’t overdue it. I would recommend connecting it to a blog or an in between site that directs traffic to your main site.

Another option for you on Facebook marketing is to create a group for your business. It is also a great forum for members to post ideas, offer feedback and for you to share content with the members.

Her main problem with inter-network marketing was being able to write content. Write content you say? I know of many people who have used CEM's magazines rather successfully to build their business.  To advertise on your own… it's not cheap.  I'd stick with quality mlm leads if you're going to do that.  But, if you can get 3 – 10 people together, it can be worth it.  I would highly suggest committing to 3 – 6 months of advertising.  While I am not a print media expert, I do know that when prospects see your ad over and over again, issue after issue, it makes a big difference.

Phone Verified Leads – Leads that are generated through an autodialer.  The computerized autodialer calls through older and cheaper leads.  When the person answers the phone, a touch-tone phone interview is conducted where the person punches certain numbers on their phone to answer a few questions.  Autodialer interviews typically last about 1 minute.

Telephone Interviewed Leads – Leads that are called by a real person in a telemarketing call center.  They are interviewed, qualified, and sorted by a real person.  Live telephone interviews can last 5 – 10 minutes.

I would suspect that 95% of all websites that sell telephone interviewed leads are actually selling phone verified leads.  It is quite likely the leads company selling the site doesn't know they are selling verified leads because they are only a reseller anyway.

If you are buying verified leads, that is fine.  It is a good lead.  But, if you are thinking you are actually buying an interviewed lead, then you're being deceived.  Here are a few things you can use to tell the difference:

1. If you order 50 interviewed leads, and they all get delivered in about 2 hours, then they are verified leads.  Real interviewed leads could not be generated that quickly.
2. If you are paying less than $5.00/lead for a real time interviewed lead, then it is a verified lead.  A geniune interviewed lead could not be sold for less.  We see telephone interviewed leads being sold for $2 – $3/lead.  We've tested them. They are verified, not interviewed.
3. A prospect who has been interviewed by a real person will remember being interviewed.  They will probably remember the name of the person who interviewed them.  A verified lead may not remember because someone else in the house may have taken the computerized touch tone survey.
4. A real telephone interviewed lead will have a higher conversion rate…. maybe one or two out of 10 leads.  A verified lead will probably have a conversion rate of one out of 35 or 50 leads.

I hope this helps.  If you're buying verified leads, that's fine, if that is what you intend to buy.  If you want interviewed leads, expect to pay more, but expect a much higher quality lead.

There are a couple of people who even advertise on this site who say you don't need leads.  But, let's deal with this just a bit

First, network marketing is about TEAM.  Not everyone is a search engine wizard.  Not everyone knows how to run these online campaigns.  Not everyone wants to go learn some new technology or method so they can generate a few leads for themselves.  So, for the person to say "You don't need leads" is the kind of person who needs to broaden their thinking to the whole team.  It's okay to generate your own leads, but some people aren't going to be able to go there.

Second, what if you could spend 100% of your time building your business instead of 50% of your time generating leads and 50% of your time building your business.  Let those who produce MLM leads do that for you so you can devote your full attention to your business.  That's just smart business.  McDonalds doesn't have a bakery in the back room making their buns.  They buy from local bread makers so they can contrate on the rest of their business.

Third, learning to generate leads on your own can be (and most likely will be) very expensive.  Don't believe all those programs where they say you need to generate your own, it's easy and it's cheap.  Most people who begin to generate their own leads realize that by the time one lead is generated, they may have spent $15 – $25 for that one lead.  We've talked to people who say they've spent nearly $100 for one lead.

Listen, if you know how to generate your own.. that's great.  Do it, and do it a lot.  But, encourage your team to buy leads from good MLM companies so they can have resources open to them to have enough leads to build their business.  You may be holding back your growth and your team's growth by trying to get them into some lead generation program they have no reason to be in to begin with.

The first thing that you need to understand is what a MLM Genealogy Lead is.  Essentially, it is a list of people who all share one thing in common, that is, that they have expressed an interest in the idea of network marketing before.  They might simply phoned in requests for information, or perhaps they are actively engaged in an MLM opportunity in a relatively modest way.  The key factor that sets this group of people apart from just going through your phone book is the interest they have already expressed.

The best way to overcome this obstacle is to ask other members.  Not just the ones that have been there for eons, but the newer ones who've been around for only a couple months.  You will get a fair assessment because the veterans will extend the down the line benefits and the newer ones will let you know the issues they have tried to overcome working with a new company.  Its a win/win situation for you overall.

Quality Leads -  This will determine whether or not your business is actually going to flourish with this company or simply be a bust.  There is nothing more disheartening then getting a ton of network marketing leads from a company then no one return your emails or anything because they are "litter leads".  You can get a good assessment again from both older and newer clients.

Cost of the Leads – Cost is somewhat relevant, because cheap leads are worthless if they're no good.  Really, would you rather spend $100 for 25 quality leads where you get to speak to qualified people who are not going to puke all over you, or would you rather spend $100 for 200 leads that are a complete shot in the dark, harvested, and no better than dialing through a phone book?  The answer is obvious.  Don't get hung up on the cost of leads.  It's the quality that counts.

Then of course how much are these leads going to cost and how many will you receive for the amount you are paying.  The lower the cost per lead just remember, "you get what you pay for" and in this case that holds true to a tee.  Good, solid MLM leads can still be found inexpensively if you research the above topics thoroughly.
