Just got this from Marketwave newsletter:
AmeriPlan Shut Down in Montana
State Declares Discount Card "Fake", Program an "Illegal Pyramid"
Here is the basics of the news: "Montana State Insurance Auditor John Morrison has issued an order to AmeriPlan USA, a multilevel marketer of medical care discount cards, to Cease & Desist all business in the state. The state auditor claims AmeriPlan had failed to contract with any medical doctors or chiropractor anywhere in the entire state, and with only one dentist. The AmeriPlan web site and some of it's distributors allegedly claimed to have a substantial number of medical care providers, dentists and chiropractors contracted in Montana that had agreed to provide a discount to those who purchased the AmeriPlan card. The state auditor's office claims AmeriPlan has 700 members in Montana who are unable to use the discount cards because there are virtually no providers in the state."
I would like to hear from some Ameriplan distributors if you get a chance to read this. What is your take on this? How will this affect your business? Are there other states in danger of this happening too?

We just posted a new article on using genealogy leads.
MLM Genealogy Reports
We would like to know what you think. Have you used Genealogy Reports before? What are some good places to buy gen. leads? What should you avoid? Post a comment and let us know.
In addition, here is a good reference to learn more about genealogy leads:

There are almost as many types of leads are there are MLM companies. But, to summarize things, there are basically 4 types of leads:
- Telephone Interviewed/Verified
- Surveyed
- Non-surveyed
- Email
Of those, there are at least 3 types:
- Real Time
- Fresh
- Aged
There are many other varients, such as local leads, female only, international, etc. So, when you begin to combine several of the features together, you can literally get dozens and dozens of different types of leads.
So, what lead seems to be the most popular? And what do I mean by popular?
I define popular as the type of lead that a customer reorders and refers others to use as well. If a customer continues to reorder a particular type of lead, AND they are referring others to use as well (their upline and downline), it is because they are getting
consistent results.
As we have surveyed several different leads companies, the #1 lead that continues to get reordered and referred is the Real Time Telephone Interviewed Lead. Most RTTI leads can be found for under $4.00 per lead. Lead per lead, these leads seem to produce the best, according to the reorder and referral rate.
The #2 lead was Real Time Surveyed Local Leads. People like to build in their own backyard.
The #3 was the Real Time Surveyed Lead. People like real time leads.
While no lead is perfect, there is something to learn from this survery. I would say... don't be cheap. Those leads you get for 5 cents each are not worth it. A person buys $75 worth of 5 cent leads so they can email blast and load their auto dialer. Another person buys $85 for 25 Real Time Phone Interviewed leads. The first is frustrated and non-duplicatible. The second is getting results and is duplicatible.
Just some things to think about.

There is only one blog I read on a regular basis (4-5 times per week). I think you will find it a helpful resource as well. Go to:
General Site: http://www.business-opportunities.biz - There are several subcategories with a ton of information. - By Dane Carlson
MLM Blog Posts: http://mlm.business-opportunities.biz - By Ty Tribble and Dane Carlson
I would add one or both of these sites to your favorites and refer to them often.
I must admit, and I'm sure you will agree with me, most of the MLM Blogs out there are worthless. They are "spammy blogs" - also called splogs - that are just there to promote their own product, busienss, or opportunity. That is one reason I like Dane's Blog.
If you know of another "generic" MLM Blog, post a comment and let us know.
I hope you find it helpful!

We're looking for some user feedback of MLM Lead Genie. We have received several negative emails from some of their customers. The biggest comment was a big waste of time and money.
We need your feedback.
For now we have removed them from our
Top 10 List. They may be a big company, but it sounds like they have some unhappy customers.
